E. Scott Santi
is Vice Chairman of Illinois Tool Works Inc. (
ITW), a Fortune 200 diversified
manufacturer of highly engineered components and industrial systems and
consumables. With $13.9 billion in revenues, ITW is a multinational
manufacturer of a diversified range of value-adding and short lead-time
industrial products and equipment. The Company consists of 840 business units in
57 countries and employs some 59,000 people.
Mr. Santi has
spent his entire career with ITW. He joined ITW in 1983 as a sales
representative for ITW's Buildex division which manufactures fasteners for the
commercial construction market. From 1985 to 1994, Mr. Santi progressed through
a series of sales and marketing management assignments at Buildex and at ITW's
Paslode division. In 1995, he was named General Manager of ITW's Vortec
division. He was appointed Vice President & General Manager of ITW's Hobart
Ground Power business in 1997, and became Vice President & General Manager
for all of the Hobart Brothers businesses (welding filler metals and aircraft
ground support equipment) in 1998. In 2002, he was promoted to Group Vice
President for the Welding Products Group, adding responsibility for ITW's
welding businesses in Europe and Asia. In 2003 he was appointed President of the
Welding Products Focus Markets Group which added responsibility for a number of
welding power source and welding accessory divisions in North America. In 2004, he was named Executive Vice
President of ITW's Welding businesses. Mr. Santi was elected Vice Chairman in
2008. He is responsible for ITW's
Worldwide Welding, Electronic Component Fabrication, Aircraft Ground Support
Equipment Group, and Food Equipment businesses.
Mr. Santi
graduated from the University of Illinois in 1983 with a B.S. degree in
Accounting, and received a Masters of Management degree from The Kellogg School
of Business, Northwestern University in 1992.
Mr. Santi is a
member of the Board of Directors of Ravinia. He is an advisory board member of
Northwestern University�s Masters of Manufacturing and Management Program (Joint
Kellogg/McCormick Masters Program). He is a trustee of Hobart Institute of
Welding Technology. Mr. Santi is also a member the Economic Club of Chicago and
the Executives� Club of Chicago. He
is the founding sponsor of Chicago Renaissance Schools Fund LEARN Charter
School.
